RAWALPINDI: A 22-year-old civilian sustained injuries after Indian Army troops committed an unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Battal sector along the Line of Control on Sunday.
According to the Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar, “Indian Army troops unprovoked ceasefire violation in Battal Sector along LoC, targeting a civilian population with mortars and heavy weapons, late last night,” said the DG ISPR. He added that a 22-year-old civilian was also injured in the attack.
The military’s media wing stated that Pakistan Army troops responded effectively to the Indian firing following the ceasefire violation.

Earlier, four civilians were injured after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in the Jandrot Sector along the Line of Control (LoC) on June 9, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said.
The ISPR, in a statement, said: “Indian Army Troops had initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation in Jandrot Sector along the LOC targeting the civilian population.”
Four civilians, including, two women and children were critically injured in the Dera Sher Khan, Sandhara, and Bamroch villages, the ISPR said.
