ISLAMABAD: Federal government of Pakistan on Monday announced a public holiday tomorrow to commemorate the historic nuclear tests conducted on May 28 in 1998.
Youm-e-Takbeer, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reminded the country of its unity in order to forge an unbeatable national defense.
“On this day, we unite under the green and white flag to celebrate our nation’s unwavering resolve,” the prime minister added.
Every year on May 28, Pakistan observes Youm-e-Takbeer to commemorate the historic nuclear tests conducted on this date in 1998. On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of these tests, the nation reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence against any form of aggression.
Pakistan remains dedicated to promoting an environment of peace and stability at both regional and global levels. The country actively contributes to international efforts aimed at strengthening global norms on arms control, non-proliferation, and disarmament, adhering to the latest international standards on export controls, nuclear safety, and security at the national level.
