LAHORE: The Appellate Tribunal of Lahore High Court (LHC) HAS allowed former Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid to contest the elections.
According to the details, LHC Election Tribunal Judge Justice Tariq Nadeem heard the appeal filed against the Returning Officer’s (RO) decision to reject the nomination papers of Yasmin Rashid.
The Election Tribunal annulled the Returning Officer’s decision to reject Yasmin Rashid’s papers and allowed her to contest the election by accepting her appeal from NA-130.
In 2023, Dr Yasmin was arrested twice in cases registered at three different police stations in Lahore. However, due to her medical condition, the police decided to keep her at Services Hospital, where she was taken from Kot Lakhpat jail after the court ordered her release.
