Netflix and India’s Yash Raj Films (YRF) earlier in September decided to launch a multi-year creative partnership and its first maiden web series titled ‘The Railway Men’ is all set to stream on the online streaming platform in November.
Directed by debutant Shiv Rawail and written by Aayush Gupta, the series is based on the backdrop of the 1984 Bhopal gas leak tragedy. The four-episode series stars R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan, and Divyenndu in the leading roles.
The Railway Men will stream on Netflix from November 18. Earlier in September, The Railway Men was announced to be streaming on Netflix later this year after the Indian content house signed a long-term creative agreement.
Those who are unaware of the Bhopal gas leak tragedy are the unsung heroes; the Indian railway employees posted at Bhopal station who saved hundreds of innocent lives during that fateful crisis.
At least 3,787 people were killed in the incident, a chemical accident that exposed hundreds of thousands to lethal gases. There are claims the death toll is actually much higher.
