A woman from Rawalpindi was sent to jail for a 14-day judicial remand by a Rawalpindi court on Thursday in connection with a case involving the running over of a police officer on the motorway.
The suspect, identified as Farah, appeared before Civil Judge Muhammad Mumtaz Hunjra’s court.
The court postponed the hearing until May 9.
Farah was apprehended on Wednesday following an FIR filed against her at Rawalpindi’s Naseerabad Police Station earlier in January this year. She was subsequently transferred to a women’s jail.
Authorities confirmed the seizure of the vehicle driven by the woman. The incident, which occurred on January 2, resulted in injuries to a police officer named Sabir.

Farah is facing multiple charges, including resisting arrest, assault, and attempted murder, with an FIR lodged against her at the Naseerabad police station.
Addressing the issue, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations of Rawalpindi Police assured that the woman would be presented in court with a strong case, ensuring justice is served.
He stressed that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to undermine the rule of law.
