ISLAMABAD: A Christian woman in Islamabad died due to the alleged negligence of a doctor at a private clinic near Golra Road Sector G-13, according to the victim’s husband.
According to details, the incident happened in September at a private clinic where people pay a hefty amount to get better medical treatment than public hospitals.
Talking to M.M News, the victim’s husband, Peter Masih, said that he brought Samina Masih to the hospital five days ago after she went into labour. “She underwent surgery and gave birth to a baby girl during which Dr Shamim cuts her urethra. Her condition began to deteriorate,” Peter claimed.
The victim’s husband further said that the doctor later told him to take his wife to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Services (PIMS), where the negligence was diagnosed. The woman died thirteen days later.
Later, according to the husband, return to the private clinic, where the doctor along with her brothers abused threatened to kill him. Peter said he has no support and the accused threatened him to remain silent.
The victim’s husband informed that despite filing several applications, the Golra Road Police station has refused to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused. “Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Adnan has forced me to suppress the matter,” he claimed.
Peter Masih has appealed to Inspector General (IG) Islamabad and concerned authorities to take notice of the issue and punish the accused doctor according to law.
