RAWALPINDI: A woman has demanded the release of her husband arrested by police in A fake FIR in Rawalpindi.
The victim, a resident of Ganj Mandi, told MM News that her husband had been sent to jail by police after nominating in a fake FIR lodged by his brother-in-law.
The victim said that her husband Arif Mahmood had a joint venture with his brother-in-law Sheikh Rustam.
“When my husband started a separate business, Sheikh Rustam angered and allegedly gave Rs 150,000 to ASI of Cantt Rawalpindi police station as a bribe for arrest her husband.”
The woman said that she also went to the RPO and CPO Rawalpindi office. “They handed over my husband’s inquiry to SP Pothwar. Even after 25 days, my husband’s arrest could not be investigated,” she added.
She said that her husband’s brother-in-law is an influential person and has a good relationship with the police. Despite the orders of authorities the concerned police failed to conduct an impartial inquiry.
The woman appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar and IG Punjab Police to order an impartial inquiry into the case.
