BADIN: A woman, who belongs to the Sujawal district’s Mirpur Bathoro area, has given birth to a two-headed baby at a private hospital.
The doctors who helped the woman in delivering the baby said that both mother and child are both “healthy” and out of danger. However, the baby’s heads were separated after a surgical procedure.
Senior gynecologist Dr. Nusrat Babu Khati in this regard said that an ultrasound report of the baby obtained after delivery shows that the baby’s brain is split and is visible in both heads.
The newborn’s condition is stable, she added, advising that more tests would be conducted after consulting senior doctors. The parents will be given advice and training on how to take care of their baby.
Moreover, last month, the father of the newborn had claimed that his newly born infant went missing from JPMC Karachi after his wife reportedly gave birth to twins. He blamed doctors for the missing second baby. A complaint has also been lodged against the hospital’s administration.
The complaint stated that the ultrasound scan performed by a private laboratory showed twins. The physicians at the emergency ward of the hospital said that woman had given birth to only one baby which they handed over to the parents.
The confusion occurred as the parents have got two ultrasound reports from different laboratories. the two ultrasounds have shown different results, adding that the ultrasound report carried out by JPMC showed only one child.
