RAWALPINDI: Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has said that democracy was being run with a stick in Pakistan.
“I will write a letter to the Army Chief and tell him that he will have to think about the situation in Azad Kashmir, said Imran Khan in a statement on his social media website.
According to PTI’s statement on the social media website, Imran Khan said that he would write a letter to the Army Chief not for himself, but for the country. “The basis of democracy is moral standards, if there is a lack of ethics, it cannot be called democracy,” he maintained.
According to the statement, Imran Khan said that the way democracy is being run with a stick in Pakistan is a mockery of democracy. “Bushra Bibi was sentenced twice in 5 days in Adiala Jail,” he said by adding, “The judge will file a case against Qudratullah and Abul Hasnat for the misconduct.”
The former prime minister said that the Al-Qadir Trust case is also being run at the same speed. “Other politicians get long dates, our cases are taking three, four, four appearances in a week. We hope that our trial also proceeds in a normal manner,” he said.
Imran Khan said, “Our petitions regarding May 9 and February 8 are not being heard. We demand that our trial should also be on the pattern of the trials of Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, and Yusuf Raza Gilani. Personal attacks are being made on our leaders.”
