Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has directed his party leaders to bring as many people as possible to Islamabad on November 24 to pressure the government to release him from jail and to accept other demands of the party.
He has also instructed his party to contact the leaders of allied parties to join the protest movement and make it successful.
According to sources, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser met with Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Constitution Protection Movement, last night. Sources said that Asad Qaiser invited Mahmood Khan Achakzai to join the November 24 protest.
However, Mahmood Khan Achakzai has declined to join the PTI protest for now, sources said.
Further sources revealed that Achakzai’s refusal was due to a lack of time. During the meeting, Mahmood Khan Achakzai remarked, “There are only three days left until your protest. How can we campaign in such a short time? If there had been more time and you had invited us earlier, it could have been considered.”
Asad Qaiser urged Mahmood Achakzai to reconsider and suggested they meet again soon, sources added.
