 WHO says number of people infected with coronavirus globally exceeds 167,500

MOSCOW: The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday in its new coronavirus report that about 14,000 people have infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) globally.
According to the WHO report, about 14,000 people have infected with the novel coronavirus disease over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases above 167,500.
The WHO further stated 167,511 cases had been reported across the globe, with 13,903 new ones over the past 24 hours, adding that the worldwide death toll had jumped by 862 to 6,606 on Tuesday.
WHO reported stated that the number of confirmed cases in China remains at 81,077, the death count has accomplished 3,218.
It further said that the number of COVID-19 cases outside of China has augmented by 13,874 to 86,434 on Tuesday in more than 152 countries.
On Monday, The World Health Organization (WHO) had reported 10,982 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease across the world with 343 people died, which brought the total death toll to 5,375 during the past 24 hours.
According to WHO, the total number of people, who were diagnosed with COVID-19, has jumped 153,517. While the number of confirmed cases outside China is 72,469.
The new coronavirus was first emerged in China’s Hubei province Wuhan, in December 2019, and has since spread worldwide. Earlier, the WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic.
