Important details have emerged regarding the murder of TikToker Sana Yousaf in the federal capital. According to police sources, Sana Yousaf was allegedly shot and killed by her cousin.
According to details, the incident occurred while guests were present at her home, during which the suspect opened fire. As a result, Sana Yousaf was hit by two bullets and sustained serious injuries.
She was initially taken to KRL Hospital in an injured state; however, due to her critical condition, she was later shifted to Shifa International Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to private TV channel 24 News, Sana Yousaf was a first-year medical student and was quite active on social media. After the incident, police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and collected evidence. The postmortem is ongoing at PIMS Hospital, after which the body will be handed over to the family.
Police stated that initial statements from the victim’s family have been recorded, and the incident is being investigated from all angles.
It is worth noting that societal attitudes in Pakistan have long been unfavourable toward women active on social media, and this is not the first case involving the murder of a female social media influencer.
One of the most prominent cases is that of Qandeel Baloch, a social media celebrity known for her bold online presence. In July 2016, she was strangled to death by her brother, Muhammad Waseem, who confessed to the murder, stating that her behavior had brought dishonor to the family.
Baloch’s murder sparked national and international outrage, leading to widespread discussions about women’s rights and the prevalence of honour-based violence in Pakistan.
