American Congressman Alexander Green was honored on Monday with Pakistan’s prestigious Sitara-i-Khidmat award. This high civilian decoration was presented by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, in recognition of Green’s significant contributions to strengthening US-Pakistan relations and combating Islamophobia.
The award ceremony, held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., was attended by several prominent figures and members of the Pakistani-American community.

Alexander N. Green has been serving as the U.S. representative for Texas’s 9th congressional district since 2005. A member of the Democratic Party, Green’s extensive political career began when he served as the justice of the peace in Harris County, Texas, from 1977 to 2004. Born on September 1, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he is an accomplished lawyer and politician with a commitment to fostering international relations and addressing global challenges.
Green’s recent recognition comes as a result of his efforts to bolster diplomatic and economic ties between the United States and Pakistan, as well as his work in combating Islamophobia.
