Raja Riffat Mukhtar, a former Inspector General (IG) of Police for Sindh and Motorways, has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The announcement came through a formal notification issued by the Establishment Division.
Mukhtar, a Grade-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), previously served as the Inspector General of the National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) and held the position of Sindh police chief. Bringing a wealth of law enforcement expertise, he now takes the helm of Pakistan’s premier investigative agency at a pivotal time.
Meanwhile, Waqar-ud-Din Syed has been appointed as the inaugural Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), a newly established institution under the Interior Division. Syed, a Grade-20 PSP officer and a former director of the FIA’s Cybercrime Circle, was recently honored with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his notable contributions to combating cybercrime.
