Chaudhry Akhtar Lawa, who is now famously known as ‘Lahore Da Pawa – Akhtar Lawa’ after his videos went viral on social media and TV channels, was actually a three-time councilor-elect from his constituency and a staunch supporter of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
Information gathered about him after his videos caught attention in Pakistan and abroad revealed that he worked in Bahrain, a Middle Eastern country, and returned home in the year 2000, and joined politics.
He is 64 years old and has two wives, four daughters and a son.
Chaudhry Akhtar Lawa is associated with the ruling PML-N. He was a three-time councilor-elect from his constituency and he considers corruption the main reason for all problems in Pakistan.
During the course of LG elections, his opponent was allotted ‘Manji/Charpai’ symbol. Akhtar Lawa gathered his supporters to launch election campaign, during which some children raised slogans.

Chaudhry Akhtar Lawa has now become famous for his unique style on social media, and people are making videos copying his unique style and repeating his words ‘Lahore Da Pawa – Akhtar Lawa’ repeatedly on social media.
In response to the question asked about fame, he said that it is the grace of Allah whoever He wants to honour or humiliate.
Lawa said, “I do good deeds among people, I see everyone as my children, and everyone loves me. Some people call me Mama, Chacha or Dada. This is the love of all people.”
He said “I have two married sons and I have also given them a share in my property. You guys should also give your sons their right to inheritance as per Shariah and the law of the country.”
In future, Akhtar Lava wants to contest the MPA election. He said, “I will continue public welfare activities. If the party leadership trusts me, I will win the election and do exemplary work. Lahore Da Pawa will see the destroy the corrupt and land mafia.”
He says that government employees are servants of Pakistan, if they do not work properly, then I will dismiss them from their jobs.
In a recent interview, Akhtar Lawa strongly criticised the politicians and said that the common man is doing things to make people happy and for their welfare, then why are these politicians not doing the people’s work, and why are they robbing the people? “Politicians should stop looting people as this world is mortal and they will be accounted for in the hereafter.”
