As various apps release new updates, older devices are often unable to support the new versions. WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app, has released updates that will no longer be compatible with smartphones running Android 4.4 KitKat or older, as well as iOS 10 and iOS 11, starting October 24, 2023.
Meta regularly updates WhatsApp to enhance its functionality on current operating systems, introducing new features such as multi-account switching and additional security measures. Meta encourages users to update WhatsApp regularly to benefit from these new features and security enhancements. Those who don’t update WhatsApp risk exposure to online threats and missing out on new features.
