WhatsApp has introduced a new tool designed to streamline chat navigation for users.
The latest addition, dubbed “chat filters,” empowers users to efficiently search for messages from groups, specific contacts, or businesses.
Within messaging applications, users can employ chat filters to sort, organize, or prioritize their conversations according to specific criteria.
Similar to how filters on e-commerce platforms aid in product discovery or LinkedIn assists in job search, chat filters in messaging apps like WhatsApp expedite the process of locating relevant conversations.
Users can categorize their chats based on sender, keywords, groups, or time, simplifying the management of large message volumes.
This functionality resembles organizing emails in Gmail through labels or categories. In a press release, WhatsApp highlighted the growing importance of swift message access amidst increased activity on the platform, emphasizing the significance of the new Chat Filters.
How to use it
To access these filters, users simply need to tap the search bar within their WhatsApp application, where they’ll find options to quickly categorize chats as unread or important. This feature facilitates prioritizing responses and efficiently managing extensive chat data.
