Ed-tech educators in India are renowned for using creative methods to simplify complex concepts. From incorporating Bollywood songs about scientific terms to crafting Hindi mnemonics for better memorization, these teachers go the extra mile to help students succeed. Videos showcasing their unconventional techniques often go viral, earning praise and entertaining viewers.
According to a report by Hindustan Times on Sunday, in one such video, a teacher from the popular ed-tech platform, Physics Wallah, demonstrates a quirky method to explain chirality in chemistry. Chirality refers to a molecule or object that cannot be superimposed on its mirror image through any translation or rotation.
While describing the structure of a chemical compound, the teacher faced difficulty illustrating the molecule’s rotation. In a surprising twist, he decided to use his own body as a demonstration tool. The video, recorded during a live Physics Wallah session, shows the teacher getting down on his hands and feet, positioning his legs on a chair and his palms on the floor while continuing to explain.

“Now imagine my head is the COOH group,” he says, as he stretches out his legs, physically embodying the molecule and showing its rotation. “Now when I turn, my right becomes left, and left becomes right,” he adds, seamlessly blending chemistry with yoga.
‘Bhayankar padhai’
The video was shared on X, with one user calling it “absolute cinema.” Reactions quickly poured in, with some praising the teacher’s dedication, while others questioned his approach.
“Either he’s incredibly passionate or just seeking fame with this negative PR stunt,” wrote one user. Another commented, “Had we learned chemistry this way, our marks would have been better.” A third user dubbed the class as “bhayankar padhai.”
Most viewers suggested that the teacher could have used plastic models or 3D graphics to better explain the concept instead of contorting himself in such an unusual manner.
