A new creation by British street artist Banksy emerged on St. Patrick’s Day in London, employing green spray paint to adorn a building’s facade, mimicking the foliage of a nearby pruned tree. This intriguing artwork delivers a powerful environmental message.
Shared on Banksy’s official Instagram account, the mural captivated his 12 million followers. When observed from specific angles, the green strokes align seamlessly with the tree’s barren branches, creating an illusion of leaves. True to Banksy’s style, the piece features a stencil of a figure wielding a spraying device dripping with green paint.

This latest masterpiece from the elusive artist ignited a buzz across social media platforms, drawing admiration even from notable figures like Jeremy Corbyn, former leader of the Labour Party, representing the area where the art emerged. “Banksy has come to Islington! What a marvelous piece, showcasing hope for our natural world,” Corbyn expressed.
While Banksy remains an enigmatic figure, his reputation as one of the world’s foremost artists endures. It is worth mentioning that among his works are Kissing Coppers (2004) and the infamous Girl with Balloon (2006), famously shredded after its auction sale in 2018. In a separate incident, a Banksy piece depicting three grey drones atop a “STOP” sign in south London was brazenly removed by an unidentified individual in broad daylight, leading to subsequent arrests by the police.
Unlike the fate of some of his past works, the longevity of Banksy’s latest creation seems assured. Stretching beyond the height of the neighboring tree and spanning multiple floors of a sizable building, this piece stands as a testament to his enduring influence and creativity.
