ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir met with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Army Chief General Asim Munir on his arrival at the Royal Palace. Apart from mutual relations, the Crown Prince discussed military and defense cooperation, and regional and global issues with the Army Chief.
According to ISPR, Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Al Maliki, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Army Chief and the Saudi Crown Prince discussed ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries. On this occasion, the Army Chief said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have brotherly relations. Both countries enjoy common values based on faith, culture, and cooperation in defense, economy, trade, and other fields.
He said that more than 2.5 million Pakistanis living and working in Saudi Arabia are a major source of remittances for the country.
