KARACHI: Legendary fast bowler and Pakistan’s bowling coach Waqar Younis has announced that he will no longer use social media after an obscene video was liked from his verified Twitter handle.
Younis took to Twitter on Friday to post a video in which the fast bowler announced to quit social media after the video was liked from his verified Twitter handle to which he claimed that his account was hacked
He said, “I have to say with regret that some ‘Allah ka Banda’ hacked my Twitter account. When I woke up this morning, I found out that an obscene video had been liked from the account”. The former pacer lamented that this has caused immense embarrassment and agony to him and his family.
Extending apologies to anybody who got affected by the situation, Younis said that he always believed that social media is an effective way of communication, however, after his account repetitively got hacked in the past, he had finally decided to call it a quit.
“My family is dear to me, therefore, I have left all social media platforms,” he maintained. Waqar’s comments came after his name trending on Twitter as fans started criticising the former Pakistan cricketer after an obscene video was liked from his account.
