LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi’s skipper Wahab Riaz has become the first bowler in the history of Pakistan Super League (PSL) to reach the 100 wickets landmark.
The left-arm pacer reached the milestone after taking the wicket of Islamabad United batter Danish Aziz as Peshawar Zalmi registered a 10-run victory over Islamabad United in a crucial match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
He achieved the landmark in the 4.3 over of the United’s inning when left-hander Danish nicked his quick and bouncy delivery and the wicket-keeper Mohammad Haris took a simple catch.
The 36-year-old Wahab has reached the milestone in 75 matches he has played ever since the PSL started in 2016. With 100 wickets to his name, Wahab is the leading wicket-taker in PSL’s history with United’s right-arm fast bowler Hasan Ali being second on the list with 78 scalps.
