KARACHI: Police sprang into action after a man supposedly a bus conductor was caught on camera slapping a female passenger during an apparent verbal altercation.
The shocking incident was captured on a CCTV camera of a nearby shop in Orangi Town showing the bus conductor hitting the face of the female passenger during a heated argument. The woman attempts to push him back as the conductor came out of the bus and instructed her to get off the bus.
The incident sparked outrage on social media with calls to arrest the suspect. Transport Ittehad President Irshad Bukhari said he was unable to identify the suspect but assured to help in apprehending him if a complaint is lodged.
After the incident was aired on media, the police sprang into action and eventually found and confiscated the vehicle. Police said the driver has assured to bring the conductor and strict action will be taken against him.

Eventually, the case took a new turn after the victim recorded her statement before police officials after it was revealed that the man who had slapped the female passenger was not the bus conductor.
The man reached the police check post along with the victim. The bus driver and conductor were also appeared before the police officials and recorded their statements.
In her statement, the woman claimed the man who had attacked her was her relative namely Kashif. She said the man hit her for not handing over the mobile phone and niqab issue. She added it was a family matter and she doesn’t want any action against him.
