Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram have launched a vanish mode for users.
However, this isn’t like Snapchat, where messages disappear after a set period of time. Instead, only the messages sent with vanish mode activated will disappear when the chat is closed.
According to Facebook, the giant has designed vanish mode with safety and choice in mind. Vanish mode is also opt-in, so you choose whether to enter vanish mode with someone. If someone takes a screenshot of your chat while you’re using vanish mode, users will be notified.

Even though Vanish Mode seems like a different take on disappearing or self-destructing messages, it is pretty much the same. The whole concept still revolves around the idea that was brought forward by Snapchat in 2011.
Over the past few months, Facebook has been revamping the way its messengers, including WhatsApp, work. Hence, there might be more features coming in sooner than later.
