PESHAWAR: DSP CTD Ghaniur Rehman was shot to death early in the day by unidentified men in Chamkani area of Peshawar.
The attackers opened fire on DSP Ghaniur Rehman Khan’s vehicle resulting in his martyrdom whereas four others alongside Rehman have been critically injured.
Among the wounded was the driver, and other law enforcement personnel. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has taken notice of the wicked murder and act of terrorism.
CM KPK offered his condolences on the loss to the bereaved family along with directing the best healthcare facilities for injured.
The chief minister also directed the IG KPK to complete the investigations as soon as possible and submit a report to him, personally.
Funeral prayers of the deceased DSP have also been offered in the city. CM Mahmood Khan, IGP Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan, provincial ministers along with police and bureaucrats and people from all walks of life were present to pay homage to the martyred officer.
Yesterday, three security personnel were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in North Waziristan.
