RAWALPINDI: Two Pakistan Army soldiers have embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire in South Waziristan.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists fired on security forces check post near Pash Ziarat, SouthWazirstan late last night.
Security forces promptly responded and during the exchange of fire two soldiers of the Pakistan Army, 32-year old Havaldar Matloob Alam, and 25-year old sepoy Suleman Shaukat embraced martyrdom while a soldier got injured.
Operation is in progress for area clearance, ISPR added. Earlier, six soldiers had embraced martyrdom in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on a security forces’ convoy in North Waziristan.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations, “Terrorist IED attack on security forces convoy near Razmak, North Waziristan. Resultantly one officer and five soldiers embraced martyrdom.”
The martyred soldiers were identified as Capt Umar Farooq, Naib Subedar Riaz Ahmed, Naib Subedar Shakeel Azad, Havaldar Younas Khan, Naik Muhammad Nadeem, and Lance Naik Asmat Ullah, the military’s media wing informed.
‘Encounters’ between security forces and militants are frequently taking place in North Waziristan. Security forces have killed several hardcore terrorists in recent clashes.
