ISLAMABAD: The federal police today (Tuesday) have arrested two robbers for taking away 400 tola gold ornaments and Rs4 million from a jeweler’s shop in Islamabad, and seized the looted items from them.
According to details, Kohsar police took action on a complaint registered by the shop owner. The robbers were identified as Sadaqat Shah and Adeel. The raid team has also recovered weapons used in the robbery.
A police spokesperson informed that the arrested accused have committed to confessing the crime. A case has been registered against the arrested accused under several provisions of the Criminal Act.
Earlier, the district police claimed to have arrested two suspected dacoits in injured condition after an encounter in Rawalpindi, while two of their accomplices managed to escape.
Banni police station during snap checking of vehicles intercepted two suspected motorcycles near Sheikh Rashid Pulli, but the suspected dacoits opened fire on the police party.
As a result, in cross-firing, two suspected dacoits received bullet injuries and netted. The police party shifted the injured dacoits to the hospital for medical treatment.
