Turkey’s government has strongly escalated its rhetoric against Israel, with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warning of potential consequences amid rising regional tensions. Ankara also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of undermining fragile peace efforts between Iran and the United States during a tense two-week ceasefire in the region.
The diplomatic spat intensified after Netanyahu criticized Turkey for allegedly accommodating Iran-linked groups.
In response, Turkey issued a sharply worded statement describing Netanyahu as “the Hitler of our time,” citing what it called serious crimes committed under his leadership.
The statement also referenced ongoing international legal proceedings against Israel’s leadership, including an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting civilian populations while pushing for accountability.

The exchange further escalated on Sunday when Erdogan delivered a forceful speech at a political gathering, warning Israel of possible repercussions.
He accused Netanyahu of being “blinded by blood and hatred” and suggested that, without Pakistan’s mediation efforts in the Iran–US conflict, Turkey would have already acted more directly.
Erdogan went on to draw controversial historical parallels, saying that Turkey had previously undertaken military operations in regions such as Libya and Karabakh, and implied that similar action against Israel could not be ruled out if deemed necessary. He added that any such move would depend on strength and unity, further heightening regional concerns amid an already fragile security environment.
