Transporters have suspended passenger bus services from Quetta to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, citing the deteriorating law and order situation in the region.
This decision follows a recent surge in terrorism-related incidents across Balochistan, which also led authorities to suspend train operations from Quetta a week ago.
As a result, bus owners have parked their vehicles at a private terminal on Airport Road in Quetta, bringing interprovincial transport services to a halt due to security concerns on national highways.
According to bus operators, the suspension is primarily due to incidents of extortion and terrorist attacks targeting vehicles traveling between provinces.

Earlier, Balochistan’s Regional Transport Authority (RTA) directed all interprovincial coaches departing from Quetta to operate only during daylight hours. The RTA Secretary cited “unavoidable circumstances” as the reason for discouraging nighttime travel.
