LOS ANGELES: Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, who was earlier impacted by the coronavirus has been donating his plasma to help fight the coronavirus.
The Oscar-winning actor took to Instagram and shared photographs with a caption “Plasmatic on 3! 1,2,3 PLASMATIC!”
Plasma-derived from blood of those people who have successfully recovered from the virus contains antibodies that can potentially help others fighting the illness.
Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were tested positive for the virus in March. Both were hospitalized in Australia where they were doing pre-production work on a film about singer Elvis Presley when the actor contracted virus.
He announced it in a tweet and wrote, “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”
