Hollywood icon Tom Cruise is expected to attend the Paris Olympics closing ceremony on August 11 and perform a stunt during the event when the Olympic flag is transferred to Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Summer Olympics, according to a reliable source cited by Deadline.
“Expect a major Hollywood production,” the publication quoted the source as saying. Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles will receive the Olympic flag from Mayor Anne Hidalgo of Paris, though the specifics of the ceremony are being kept under wraps.
The Hollywood website TMZ was the first to report Cruise’s participation in the closing ceremony. They asserted that the actor, known for his daredevil approach to action, is preparing an “epic stunt” for the Olympics.
According to TMZ, the actor is supposed to “rappel down from the top of Stade de France… landing on the stadium field and carrying the official Olympic flag.”
Paris was a major setting in Cruise’s 2018 film “Mission Impossible: Fallout.”
The 2028 Summer Olympics will take place from July 14-30 in Los Angeles, which previously hosted the Games in 1932 and 1984.
