ISLAMABAD: The international forces with the help of Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Intelligence Wing seized a huge cache of drugs worth billions of rupees during a sea operation on Saturday.
According to ANF spokesperson, the international forces conducted a raid in the Arabian sea of Maldives and arrested three international drug traffickers. The forces also recovered a huge quantity of drugs during the operation, the spokesperson added.
The arrests of drug traffickers and operation became successful due to timely intelligence sharing by Pakistan’s ANF Intelligence Wing (Special Investigation Cell), he added.
In September, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Intelligence Wing recovered contraband items worth millions of rupees in Karachi and arrested an accused. Sources said that the raid was carried out at a water geyser and tandoor warehouse in Karachi’s area of Clifton.
The contraband items were to be exported to Qatar after concealing them into a water geyser, when the ANF team raided at the warehouse and apprehended man, Mushtaq. The recovered contraband items are said to be worth millions of rupees in the international market.
On September 24, the Anti-Narcotics Forces had conducted operations against drug trafficking in different parts of the country, seized 1.652 tonnes drugs while arrested 18 persons on drug charges and impounded 9 vehicles.
According to details, the Narcotics Forces seized 1294 kg morphine 14 kg Heroin, 336.6 kg Hashish, 4.8 kg Opium and 2.650 kg of Methamphetamine (ice).
ANF spokesman informed that the worth of the seized drugs is Rs 1.308 billion in the international market. ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team detained a passenger at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, and recovered 5.4 Kg Heroin concealed in his passenger bag.
