LAHORE: A house in Lahore’s Wahdat Colony caught fire on Thursday devouring four lives including three minors and an elderly woman.
According to details, three minors under the age of eight and a 52-year-old woman have burned to death in the fatal flames. They all suffocated inside a room. Their bodies were shifted to a hospital.
Initial investigation suggested that the fire erupted because of a gas heater on the ground floor of the house in Wahdat Colony. However, the rescue officials confirmed they have now tamed the flames and put out the fire.
Earlier in December 2020, a woman and her four-year-old daughter died in a fire that erupted in their house located in Sector 36-B, Zamanabad, Landhi No. 4.
The area police said that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit at around 3am and engulfed the house causing burns to Mr Ibrahim, 36, his wife Ms Reema, 30, daughter Irum, 4, and son, Abrash, 5.
They were taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced Ms Reema and Irum dead on arrival.
