A man has converted a rickshaw into a three-wheeler car while area residents are impressed by the unusual vehicle.
Owner Habibullah said he decided to convert a worn-out rickshaw with the help of a local mechanic whom he worked with. He said it was his own idea to transform the rickshaw and they did not take help from anyone.
Mechanic Jawaid said they took the front screen, roof and diggy trunk from a Mehran car and custom built the vehicle’s doors, windows, floor, and other parts. It was time-consuming work that took several months and was disrupted various times.
The total cost of the conversion was Rs250,000. Both agreed the cost was high as they had no prior experience and the work was also affected by the lockdown.
Jawaid said many people were impressed and have appreciated their work. However, he said many criticised the high cost, suggesting instead to buy a second hand car. But he insisted to complete his hobby and work on it, saying they have learnt from their mistakes and can build much cheaper now.
The owner Habibullah said areas residents and other commuters are impressed by his unusual car. He said his vehicle is unique and one of its kind in Pakistan.
