As coronavirus cases keep rising across the country amid the third wave, there is an acute risk of shortages and many dealers are taking advantage of the situation and increasing prices.
However, there is one dealer in Karachi who is providing oxygen free of cost for the treatment of deserving coronavirus patients as a goodwill gesture.
“We were providing oxygen to deserving patients even before the corona pandemic broke out,” said dealer Kashif while speaking to MM News.
“We have been providing oxygen to deserving patients for the last 27 years,” he said, adding that deserving people who are given Zakat or are entitled to it are provided free oxygen.
He said those who can afford only half the price are given 50 percent concession and given oxygen. He said the demand for oxygen has increased dramatically due to the coronavirus epidemic.
He demanded that just as grocery and medical stores are allowed to remain open during the lockdown, oxygen dealers should also be allowed to do business.
Referring to the lockdown restrictions, Kashif said that the police came and ordered to shut down his shop. “When patients do not get oxygen, they will face problems. At the hospital, patients have to pay double prices.”
He said giving away anything for goodwill is never wasted but always returns in unexpected ways with the blessings of God. “Along with us there are many others in Karachi who are participating in this noble deed. We are only helping people to please Al-Mighty Allah.”
Explaining the procedure for getting oxygen, Kashif said that deserving patients should contact us. He said they will not disclose their names to anyone and will continue to provide oxygen. He said the supply of oxygen will solve the problem of coronavirus patients.
