The recent slowdown of internet services throughout Pakistan has been linked to technical difficulties within the web management system.
This system, responsible for monitoring and regulating internet traffic at the gateway level, is reportedly facing challenges that have disrupted standard connectivity across the country.
According to sources, the web management system was implemented to block illegal content and identify accounts disseminating propaganda.
While it has effectively restricted access to thousands of URLs and numerous mobile applications, technical malfunctions have impeded its efficient functioning, leading to reduced internet speeds.
A source indicated, “The internet speed is being compromised due to irregular management of online content,” and noted that efforts to enhance the system are currently underway.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has refrained from commenting on whether the web management system is directly responsible for the disruptions; however, insiders affirm that the system’s influence on internet traffic management has resulted in unintended effects.
Both citizens and businesses have expressed their dissatisfaction with the slow internet, which has adversely affected essential services and online activities. Many have urged the PTA and relevant authorities to address the technical issues promptly.
The PTA has yet to issue an official statement regarding the situation, leaving users uncertain about when the connectivity problems will be fully resolved.
