After 12 years, The Weeknd‘s remix of Drake‘s “Trust Issues” quietly appeared on streaming services.
As of writing, the flip is only available on Spotify with the artist linked back to The Weeknd’s official page. It’s important to note, however, that the track doesn’t appear under his official Spotify profile and is released under the copyright of ‘weeknd’, possibly hinting that it may be an unauthorized leak.
The Weeknd’s spin on the Drizzy track has been a fan favorite for many years, and has earned the former praise for how he made it his own. Drake’s original “Trust Issues” was released during his Take Care era as part of a four-pack prior to the release of the album.
The real name of The Weeknd’s is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, but he came to fame as The Weeknd with the 2016 album Starboy. On the work front, The Weekend will soon star in an upcoming HBO project ‘The Idol’ alongside Lily-Rose Depp, which will be released on June 4.
Moreover this year, the 33-year-old Canadian singer’s success saw him setting two new Guinness World Records titles: Most monthly listeners on Spotify – 111.4 million (as of 20 March 2023) and the first Music artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify
The Weeknd currently has almost 30 million more monthly listeners than second-placed Miley Cyrus (82.4 million). He also comfortably outperforms Rihanna (78.5 million), Ariana Grande (80.6 million), Taylor Swift (80.2 million), Shakira (81.6 million), and Ed Sheeran, his closest male rival (77.5 million).
