The much-anticipated spy thriller ‘Argylle’ starring Henry Cavill is all set to release in cinemas on February 2.
Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the movie apart from Cavill, also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, and Samuel L Jackson.
Plot
Based on the novel ‘novel Argylle’, the plot of the movie revolves around the writer Elly Conway and her pet cat Alfie, who get sucked into a globe-trotting international plot.
How different is a movie from the novel?
Well not much! The novel Argylle explores Aubrey Argylle’s back story, his recruitment by the Central Intelligence Agency, and his entanglement with Russian businessman Vasily Federov, who is chasing a Nazi-era relic in his quest to become Russia’s next president.
What is Argylle looking for?
If you asked Argylle exactly how long he has been scratching a living here in this tropical backwater, he would give you a vague answer. ‘A couple of years,’ he might say, even though it has been more like five. He doesn’t want to face up to the fact he has hit a dead end.
He knows why he came back here – in search of answers. But he has no idea why he has stayed. He drags himself to his feet and drains his now-warm beer.
Will there be a sequel?
Moreover, it’s unclear, given the new report of a prequel series, if these are still the plans for the sequel.
Is Argylle coming to an OTT?
Argyle is an Apple Original Film and it will be released in theaters worldwide, in partnership with Universal Pictures, on February 2, 2024, before streaming globally on Apple TV+. The date of its streaming is still yet to be disclosed.
