During January, the country witnessed a 42% surge in terrorist attacks, while the security forces also increased operations against the terrorist organizations, fighting in favor of the country.
According to a report by the Think Tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), facts and figures reveal that during the past month, at least 74 terrorist attacks were recorded, taking 91 lives, including 35 security officials, 20 civilians, and 36 terrorists.
As per the facts and figures, 117 persons were injured, including 53 security forces officials, 54 civilians, and 10 terrorists. The report suggests that the anti-terrorism operations resulted in at least 185 terrorists killed, making January the deadliest month for terrorists since 2016.
After 2016, the most terrorists killed in one month was recorded in December 2024 when security forces killed 190 terrorists. During January, the lives lost in terrorist attacks and security operations totaled 245, including 185 terrorists, 40 security officials, and 20 civilians.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the most affected province in the country, while Balochistan was second in terms of terrorist attacks. The traitors attacked populated districts of KPK 27 times, killing 19 persons, including 11 security officials, 6 civilians, and 2 terrorists.
