LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court has awarded 11 years imprisonment to Hafiz Saeed, chief of the banned Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) in two terror-financing cases.
ATC judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta conducted the hearing in which he announced the verdict of imprisonment to the accused and a fine of Rs. 15,000 in each case.
The verdict was reserved by the ATC judge earlier on 6th February. Hafiz Saeed has been convicted in the terror-funding cases.
He was arrested last year in the same case from Gujrat. He is also accused by India of the Mumbai 2008 attack that killed more than 160 people.
The United States also designated Saeed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist in 2012 and offered a USD 10 million rewards for information that brings Saeed to justice.
