This Eid-ul-Azha, around five Pakistani movies, were released as we saw the release of ‘Teri Meri Kahaniyaan’, ‘Aar Paar’, ‘Allahyar And The 100 Flowers Of God’, ‘Babylicious’, ‘Madaari’, and ‘VIP’ and I happened to watch ‘Teri Meri Kahaniyaan’ a stellar cast.
One of the reasons I chose to watch this movie is because it’s SeePrime production, a YouTube channel famous for producing short films, and what captivated me was Shuja Haider’s ‘Nawazishein Karam’ title track but wait there’s more to that!
For me, this Pakistani anthology film is a rare treat for film watchers specially for Pakistani audiences. The movie was based on three short stories namely ‘Jin Mahal’ which was directed by Nabeel Qureshi, ‘Pasoori’ was directed by Marina Khan, and ‘Ek Sau Taeeswan’ which was directed by Nadeem Baig.
Jin Mahal
It was the first part featuring Mani, Hira Mani, and Gul-e-Rana. Despite the name, the movie was nothing like horror and kept us hooked to the screens until the end; it was pitch-perfect. From dialogue delivery to executions of scenes, everything was on point. Although I am not a Mani fan, I really liked his character, especially Hira Mani’s acting, but the story’s star was Gul-e-Rana; she nailed her character. If we talk about her roles in the movie, she held everyone together.

The movie was a horror comedy but it was not only based on the two genres, it gave us a roller coaster ride of emotions, social and economic issues a needy man faces, laughter, and everything. Even the child artists in the movie did a great job. For me ‘Jin Mahal was ’10/10’.
Pasoori
Ramsha Khan and Sheheryar Munawar starrer ‘Pasoori’ was indeed a pasoori. Movie. Penned by Vasay Chaudhary, the short film was quite predictable yet the audience loved watching it. The plot revolves around the bride-to-be who comes to know that her nikah and audition for a singing talent show are on the same date. What will be her decision? Will the groom support her in following her childhood dream? Everything in this short movie was executed well, the song, the direction, and especially the character of the groom’s dad played by Babar Ali was a treat for the audience.
Aik So Teeswaan
Aik So Teeswaan was different from both short films. Firstly it was written by screenwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and featured a stellar cast of Mehwish Hayat, Wahaj Ali, and Zahid Ahmed.
This movie is about love, betrayal, and how moving on is not easy despite knowing the naked truth of unfaithfulness. One thing I must admit is that Mehwish Hayat looked breathtakingly beautiful throughout the film and Wahaj Ali’s presence made the movie more captivating then there comes the phenomenal actor Zahid Ahmed, for me he is one of the most versatile actors in the film industry, and he played his part well. The movie’s direction and plot were completed by Shuja Haider’s song; it was the cherry on top!
The anthology was brilliantly executed and those who believed that the audience is there to watch Wahaj Ali even they enjoyed the every bit. There was not even a bit when the audience was distracted; ‘Teri Meri Kahaniyaan’ kept the audience hooked until the last scene. We need more movies like this.
