KARACHI: Police have arrested two men including the stepfather of a girl who was allegedly tortured and raped in Awami Colony area of the city.
Police took notice of a viral video and apprehended two suspects from Awami Colony on Sunday. One of the suspects was the step-father of the victim while the other was his brother.
In the heartbreaking viral video, the young girl claimed that she was tortured and raped by her step-father and his brother and threatened her not to tell anyone.
She named the perpetrator as Ghulam Kadir and further went on to say that her ste father himself raped her continuously at night. She claimed that he also sexually abused her younger sister.
The young girl further said that she was threatened by her stepfather and his brother that she would be killed if she told anyone.
According to police, the step-father admitted that he had tortured the girl but denied rape charges. He said that the girl was raped by a neighbour and asked police to verify his statement from the victim’s mother.
The police said that they would carry out a medical examination of the victim. The girl’s mother will also be summoned mother to testify regarding the claims of her husband
