India launched a devastating strike on several Pakistani cities, killing at least 31 people, including civilians, and destroying religious sites. The most severe attacks occurred in Muridke and Bahawalpur, intensifying tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and sparking fears of a broader conflict.
Where were civilians killed in Indian strikes?
According to Dawn, four Indian missiles struck Jamia Masjid Ummul Qura and an adjoining residence in Muridke, about 40 kilometers from Lahore. The attack claimed the lives of three civilians: Abdul Malik of Jhang, Mohammad Alam of Samundri, and Midasar of Chunian.
In Bahawalpur, 13 civilians were killed in a missile strike on the Subhan Mosque in the Chowk Azam area, located on the city’s outskirts. The casualties included four men, seven women, and two three-year-old girls. Contrary to earlier reports, the targeted mosque and Madressah complex were in Azam Chowk, not Ahmedpur East.

The complex also housed residential quarters where most victims lived. Local authorities had evacuated the seminary the previous week, anticipating an attack, but residents were allowed to return shortly before the strike.
In Narowal’s Shakargarh sector, Indian forces launched drone and mortar attacks late Tuesday night. A government dispensary suffered partial damage, and undetonated munitions were found in nearby fields. Pakistan’s military responded with a counteroffensive, while Indian forces continued firing into Harra and Sial villages.
