QUETTA: The naanbai associations have announced a strike against the government for not revising the price of flatbread in the wake of increasing rates of flour owing to a shortage.
In a statement, the Chief of Quetta’s Naanbai Association, Naeem Khilji said that they would observe a strike from today against the government not increasing the price of flatbread.
“The strike will last indefinitely across the province. We are using cylinders due to a shortage of gas and flour. A 100 kg bag of flour is being sold at Rs 7,000,” he said.

Openly declaring that they could not follow the current official price list for flatbread, he said that they want to sell 320 grams of flatbread for Rs. 30 while the price control committee is insisting that its price should be reduced.
Moreover, the federal government decided to keep the prices of petroleum products in the country unchanged for the rest of October.
According to a statement issued by the finance ministry today (Thursday), the existing prices of petroleum products will remain the same until October 31. The statement further informed that the petrol will continue to cost Rs103.97, diesel Rs104.6, kerosene oil Rs65.29 and light diesel oil Rs62.88.
Earlier, it was reported that petrol prices will register a slight decrease. The government is currently collecting Rs30/litre petroleum levy on diesel and Rs27.32/litre on petrol. The amount of petroleum levy on kerosene oil imposed is Rs11.43.
