KABUL: The Afghan Taliban on arrival in Kabul have announced a general amnesty for civilians and government officials for not conquering the Afghan capital by force.
According to a tweet by senior journalist Saleem Safi, the Taliban have announced that they would not conquer Kabul by force. A statement from the Islamic Emirate instructed the Taliban to stand at the gates of Kabul and refrain from entering while announcing a general amnesty for all citizens and government officials and vowing to gain peaceful control of Kabul through negotiations.
