KARACHI: With Ramadan coming to a close, a large number of skilled tailors and popular designers in the country are incredibly busy working extended hours to create clothing for women, men, teenagers, boys, and girls to be delivered in time for Eid day.
Many tailors have reported receiving twice as many orders as they typically would, with customers continuing to place new orders right up until the last few days.
Several tailoring shop owners have stated that they will no longer accept orders after the 22nd or 23rd day of Ramadan due to their extremely busy schedules. The tailors have been working tirelessly to take orders and deliver clothing in time for Eid, with customers requesting a variety of garments including shirts, pants, shalwar kameez, pajamas, and various two and three-piece ensembles.
Talking to media, one designer emphasized their tailoring house’s specialty in women’s clothing, while also mentioning their ability to create clothing for men and children without compromising on quality.
A few customers, who had procrastinated with their wardrobe plans, reported being rejected by a few tailors as they were already fully booked.
A worker at a designer’s studio mentioned that the stitching charges had been raised due to the extra effort required during the busy Eid season. “Our business has always been good. This is the only time we make a profit compared to other months,” stated another tailor at their bustling shop.
However, some tailors have had to decline new orders due to being overwhelmed with their current Eid orders.
