Days after the announcement of ticket sales for the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, the ticket for the highly anticipated Pakistan-India match has reached an unprecedented price of over $50,000 (PKR 13.91 million), as reported by USA Today.
Official sales for match tickets commenced at a starting price of $6, with the most expensive premium ticket priced at $400. However, these tickets have quickly found their way to resale platforms, including StubHub and SeatGeek.
In a historic move, the United States is co-hosting its first-ever ICC cricket tournament this year alongside West Indies. The tournament is set to feature 55 matches across Texas, New York, and Florida from June 1 to June 29, with New York City hosting the much-anticipated clash between Pakistan and India on June 9.
Despite the initial official prices, the resale market has seen the cheapest ticket for this high-voltage game listed at $1,259 on StubHub. It’s worth noting that the International Cricket Council (ICC) assured that “no additional fees will be imposed beyond the specified taxes.”
However, the highest-priced ticket for the Pakistan-India match is soaring close to $175,000, with an additional $50,000 in fees, bringing the total cost to just under a quarter of a million dollars on SeatGeek. As of Friday afternoon, the lowest-priced ticket for the match on SeatGeek is $1,166 without tax or fees.
