The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) cracked down on a factory producing synthetic milk in Karachi’s Bhens Colony area, confiscating toxic chemicals and apprehending the staff.
The raid was prompted by complaints about the factory manufacturing fake milk by adulterating water with chemicals.
The SFA team, led by ADG Muzammil Haliopoto, seized 750 kg of chemicals used to produce 9,000 liters of counterfeit milk and disposed of 480 liters of prepared fake milk.
The entire factory staff was taken into custody, and the SFA pledged to take severe action against those involved in the production and distribution of adulterated milk.
ADG Haliopoto warned that individuals endangering public health would face consequences, revealing that the fake milk network had been operating for an extended period, deceiving consumers by labeling the adulterated product as ‘fresh milk from Bhens Colony.
