SWAT: The district police today (Tuesday) claimed to have arrested a man for killing five members of his family, including his mother and brothers near Diolai area of Kabal district, Swat.
According to details, the accused mercilessly gunned down his mother, two brothers, sister-in-law and nephew over unknown reason. Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the deceased to a nearby hospital for autopsy.
“A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered and the suspect has been taken into custody,” the police said, adding that further investigation was underway.
Last month, a man had killed five members of his family in Peshawar over a property dispute. In Sarband police station jurisdiction, the accused gunned down three women among five persons including his paternal uncle, wife, two daughters and a son.
The man had used a Kalashnikov for murder, as police found nine spent bullets of the weapon from the crime scene.
