SWAT: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released its initial investigation report on the two blasts that occurred in the CTD police station in Kabal area of Swat.

According to the report, there is no evidence of a terrorist attack, and the explosions were caused by explosive material in the depot going off. The blast also damaged a nearby mosque, houses, and a school. The final report is yet to be compiled, and the Bomb Disposal Squad is screening the area.
The district police chief has confirmed that ammunition was stored in the depot, and they are also investigating the terrorism aspect. However, the police have not ruled out the element of terrorism yet, and the actual cause of the blasts would be determined once the investigation is complete.

In the aftermath of the incident, 17 people, including 12 policemen, lost their lives, and more than 40 others were injured. The injured are currently under treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital in Saidu Sharif, Swat, and eight of them are said to be in critical condition.
Meanwhile, a two-member fact-finding committee has been formed to investigate the Kabal blasts, and the KP home secretary has been appointed as the convener of the committee. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge as the probe progresses
